Hi, my name is Sarah Park. I am a professional clinical counselor associate supervised under Gary Henderson at The Place Within located in Auburn. My personal philosophy is that each individual holds the tools they need to successfully navigate life circumstances. My goal is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment to facilitate growth and learning in order to regain hope, passion, and happiness. I have an extensive background in working with individuals, children, and families in an array of life circumstances and challenges. Much of my professional life has been dedicated to working with children and families. I have extensive knowledge and training in navigating parenting issues, including divorce and co-parenting, working with childhood trauma, and adolescent development and transition into adulthood. I have a passion for experiential and ecotherapy and feel that nature is a powerful therapeutic tool. I consider myself an attachment based therapist and find value in connection and trust within the therapeutic alliance.   I feel that every person, every circumstance is unique, therefore I utilize a wide range of therapeutic modalities to best meet the need of the individual, couple, or family. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in mental health counseling. I am a registered associate pursuing licensure in the state of California. In my personal time I enjoy spending time with my family exploring the outdoors, hiking, backpacking, camping, and dirt biking. I value time spent on good books, good friends, and good adventures.
