I provide EMDR, Oaklander Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy and psychodynamic therapy. I believe healing happens when people are able to be 100% present and themselves in a therapeutic relationship, and can then face problems in that supportive relationship. Trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety are some such problems I have helped others with in the past. While I follow the above modalities, I believe every person is unique and therefore, I tailor the therapeutic interventions to the needs of the client.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a trauma-based therapy modality that helps people "stuck" in trauma loops become unstuck. Researchers are uncertain as to the mechanism at play that helps people become unstuck, but EMDR is research-backed and has shown evidence to support successful processing of trauma memories and decreased symptoms related to trauma.
Oaklander Play Therapy is a type of Gestalt Play therapy developed by Virginia Oaklander. It is a humanistic therapy that helps clients become more mindful/present, within the context of a therapeutic relationship, in order to feel/process emotions that create symptoms. It additionally is used to help people develop a stronger sense of self, so that they can be more confident in addressing future problems.
