Beyond having an empathetic, caring, and helpful demeanor toward your needs like a good therapist should have, I also have the education, training, and life experiences to encourage and support all people while I tend to focus with an emphasis working with adolescent boys, men, couples, and families.  I work through a psychodynamic and experiential mind-frame as often the past affects the now but we can work in the now to heal and strengthen you. I have been trained in Brainspotting and EMDR, which are tools that I can use to help you if you’re experiencing past trauma, addiction, or anxiety that seems to keep you “stuck” in life.  I also have been trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and employ Imago relationship tools to help your partner and you to intimately communicate in a healthier more effective way, no matter the stage of relationship you are in.

Q Can I use my insurance?

I offer a few insurances or EAPs I work with but I have found that many insurances are not very helpful nor do they provide adequate assistance for the client. For more info on this topic feel free to see my website page at http://www.mikeeverson.net/fees-and-insurance.html

Q Can I use my HSA or FSA?

If you have a Visa or MasterCard attached to your HSA/FSA you're welcome to use that. Otherwise I can provide a receipt or Super Bill that you can submit to your company for reimbursement from your HSA/FSA account.

Q Do you work with kids under 11?

Typically no. I have found that I work very well with tweens and teens but I am happy to provide you referrals to other therapists who I know work well with younger kids.

Q Since you share you're faith based, do I have to be a Christian to come see you?

Absolutely not! Though I am happy to work within issues of faith, any good therapist will ethically work within your value system and help you through your values and beliefs. Thus, I can work from a secular or spiritual framework depending on what you need to help you.

Q What times are you in Carmichael vs. Roseville?

The hours listed above are the times I see clients. Specifically on Monday (day & evenings), Fridays, and every other Saturday I work out of Carmichael while on Tuesdays and Thursdays (day& evenings) I work in Roseville. I can also do video counseling through a HIPAA compliant online system if the therapy involved can allow that. At times I have other times or availabilities so feel free to call and discuss to find a right time and place for you.

Q Do you offer free consultations for the first session?

I do not provide a free first session but I am happy to provide a free 10-15 minute phone consultation to discuss your questions about how I work or if i would be a good fit for you prior to scheduling.
