I am a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, PTSD, depression, and adjustment disorders. My approach to therapy is supportive, collaborative, and empowering. I believe that all individuals have the capacity to self-actualize and reach their goals with guidance, support, and care. I also highly emphasize communication in any relationship, particularly that between the therapist and client.
I have worked with a wide range of clients of all ages and from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. My primary specialty is individual adult psychotherapy. I have been trained in several evidence-based psychotherapies, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Cognitive-Processing Therapy for PTSD (CPT), Prolonged Exposure for PTSD (PE), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches.
While I have experience working with a wide range of psychological issues, I have particular experience and expertise in the following areas:
— Anxiety disorders and PTSD
— Depression and Adjustment disorders
— Epilepsy and seizure disorders
— Conversion disorders
— Substance abuse disorders
— Grief and loss
— Military issues
In addition to the above areas of specialty, I have been trained in the treatmenf of psychogenic non-epileptic seizures, psychogenic movement disorders, and other somatic symptom or conversion disorders. The treatment I provide is unique in that it is one of the only evidence-based treatments for these disorders available in the country.
