Is your teen struggling with anxiety or depression?  Do they struggle with self-confidence?  Do they have body image issues?  Do they engage in self-harming behaviors?  I am here to help.  I will collaboratively support your teen and yourself, as the parent, to facilitate positive growth and change.  I will teach them the skills to handle their challenging emotions and cope effectively in stressful situations.

I have years of experience working with adolescents and families in their homes, schools, and psychiatric hospital settings.  I have witnessed the countless struggles, mental health and behavioral challenges that teens and their families deal with daily.  I have also seen that with effective strategies and coping skills, teens can develop the confidence needed to face life’s numerous challenges.

At Blue Sky Counseling we provide Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior Therapy services.  Cognitive Behavior Therapy is an evidence based practice used to treat a range of mental health and behavioral issues, including: Anxiety, Panic, Depression, low Self-Esteem, ADHD, ODD, OCD, and Anger issues.  Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is demonstrated to be highly effective with adolescents with suicidal thoughts, as well as those who self-injure and engage in high risk behaviors.  We provide individual skills training in areas of: interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. We also offer parent consultation sessions, to provide parents with much needed support for coping with their teen’s challenges at home.

In addition, we provide support for children and teens who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, divorce, and other stressful life transitions.
