Life is full of its many journeys. My own journey coming out as transgender and starting my medical transition came around the same time as when I started training/interning as a therapist at the Gender Health Center. Along the way, I noticed my own understandings of myself shift and my views of transition shifted alongside coming to understand the changes as lifelong journeys and not just one story easily told from beginning to end. Similarly, while my approach is based in Narrative Therapy, I work to adapt to best meet the needs of the people I work with. Viewing people as themselves but also in relation to the systems and culture they navigate. My goal is to support and empower people to become true to the self or selves they’d prefer.
I have substantial experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, autism, ADHD, plurality and dissociative disorders. I have also helped empower folks from a wide range of marginalized communities across race, class, ability, sexuality and gender. I work with individuals, families and kids, and couples/non-monogamous relationships.
I am an AMFT 126739 supervised by David Nylund PhD LCS 14463
