Therapists Who Work With Dissociative Disorders
Dissociative disorders are characterized by a disconnect from one’s life, either via memory loss, multiple personalities, or feeling detached from reality. These disorders are usually a response to some traumatic event(s) and can result in confusion over self-identity, memory, and strain on relationships. Dissociative disorders differ from more severe disorders like schizophrenia in that they don’t involve psychosis. Its usually more about feeling disconnected in a strong way.
