Personality Disorder Therapists
Personality disorders are characterized by severe, deeply rooted ways of seeing the world and/or behaving that negatively effect a person and their interactions with others. Personality disorders are distinguishable from other mental health disorders in that they tend to be more pervasive, long term, and have less clear observable causes and effects.
The symptoms associated with personality disorders tend to be integrated into a persons’ sense of self. In this way, people with personality disorders tend to either be unaware of their symptoms or don’t think of them as problematic. This contrasts with something like depression where most people can clearly identify it as a problem that they would like to get rid of.
