Polyamory / Non-Traditional Relationship Therapists

The term polyamory refers to the practice of consensual non-monogamy. People in polyamorous relationships generally hold the belief that all of one’s needs cannot be met by one person and that monogamy is a social construct that does not fit all people. Polyamory always means loving more than one person romantically, but that does not always mean sex. There are many unique issues involved in being polyamorous and it is important to find a therapist who is knowledgeable and understanding about these issues. A poly friendly therapist should be knowledgeable, accepting, and welcoming towards polyamory.
