Asperger’s Therapists

Asperger’s Syndrome is similar to autism in many ways, and was recently reclassified as being on the autism spectrum. However, people with Asperger’s are are typically seen as “high functioning” and don’t struggle with speech in the same ways that those with autism might. Asperger’s Syndrome is characterized by struggling with social interactions and communication (i.e., awkward movements, lack of eye contact and/or trouble speaking in ways that are empathetic), sometimes being deeply interested in/focused on specific topics, and sometimes awkward or robotic speech/behavior. Like autism, this syndrome can look very different from person to person, and any given person may present very differently from another.
