Therapists Who Practice Family Systems Therapy

Murray Bowen began the family systems therapy approach back in the 1950’s and since then it has led to many evolutions, but the basic premise behind this approach is the idea that what happens to one family member happens to everyone in the family, and therefore the whole family should be treated as a unit, and seen together in therapy.  This approach puts strong emphasis on the dynamics of self-individualism and relation to others in the group.
