Interpersonal therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on relationships with others. This approach is usually time limited and typically the duration of treatment ranges from 6-20 sessions. Interpersonal therapy is based on the idea that there are specific factors (biopsychosocial/cultural/spiritual factors, social support or lack thereof, interpersonal crisis) that should be the main focus of therapy, and resolving problems or understanding patterns in any one of those factors is key.
