Angela Borders
Angela Borders is an adjunct English instructor at several Sacramento area community colleges. She works on the SacWellness team as editor, data entry person, and general helper. She and Joe Borders have been married since 2005, and have been partners since late 1999. Together they have two children, and work to make the world a better place in whatever small way they can for their kids. Working on the SacWellness team is a part of that in that they can help connect people to needed resources and information.
SacWellness was created in early 2018 by Joe Borders, MFT. Before SacWellness, Joe spent several years blogging and researching ways to get his private practice website to appear in search engines. He eventually got his site to rank well and started advising other therapists on how to get their sites to rank better. In doing this he came up with the idea for SacWellness, a therapist directory specifically for the greater Sacramento area. SacWellness was a way for him to combine two things he enjoyed and was doing all the time: Networking, blogging, and SEO work.
We hope for SacWellness to become a real resource for our community and we strive to involve members of the mental health community in the site. There are other therapist directories out there, but at the time of creating SacWellness, there were none specifically for our area. We know its going to take some time to build up the site, but we aim to eventually become the go to resource for finding therapists in the greater Sacramento area.
As part of our continuing efforts to get the word out about SacWellness, we are always looking for ways to publicize the site. Check out these times we’ve been featured in print or video.
I was contacted by a random online radio station to do a short interview with them. I thought it went pretty well….for my first time on radio, but afterwards they called me back and it sounded like they were looking at this as a way to screen for people who might be interested in paying to have their own radio series. Decided against it, but it was fun to do ^_^.
